Fairy tales: Archetypal literature and its influence in our lives

A Summer Workshop with Lara Newton

WHEN: Saturdays, June 27, July 11 and July 18, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
              OR Wednesdays, June 17 – July 22, 2009 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

WHERE:  679 Grant Street, Denver, CO 80203

These classes will begin with a discussion of The Interpretation of Fairy Tales by Marie-Louise von Franz and selected essays by C.G. Jung. From this basis in the psychological study of archetypal literature, we will then turn our focus to specific stories. In addition to interpretation, we will also look at both “good” and “bad” uses that have historically been made of fairy tales in the culture. We will work in depth with collective consciousness and its relation to the source of archetypal manifestations: the objective psyche or collective unconscious.
